The building housing the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa, is 20 years old and efforts are under way to raise the money to add a second building to the complex located on the Marion County Fairgrounds.

The engines could barely be heard above the crowd of 23,500 when Tim Shaffer slid under Donny Schatz and grabbed the lead as the pair raced to the white flag in the 50th annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway.

2007: Schatz Repeats At Knoxville

Donny Schatz was the overwhelming favorite heading into the 47th annual Super Clean Knoxville Nationals and he didn’t disappoint. Schatz had the fastest car all week and led all 30 laps of Saturday night’s feature to win sprint-car racing’s biggest event for the second consecutive year.

Aided by a yellow flag after 23 green-flag laps, Donny Schatz made a late pass of Jason Meyers to win the 48th annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Race­way for the third consecutive year.
