It took defending DIRTcar modified champion Brett Hearn a few weeks to perfect his new car, but he apparently has it spot on now as he claimed his second consecutive feature at Lebanon Valley Speedway Saturday night.

Slick track master Marc Johnson won his second consecutive DIRTcar modified feature Friday night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, clawing his way forward from 19th to lead division superstar Stewart Friesen to the checkers.

Two-time NASCAR National Sportsman division champion Bill Wimble, 84, died late Sunday afternoon from complications that developed after he suffered a brain hemorrhage in late February.

Charland Coupe Comes To Saratoga Museum

Vintage race car collector Phil Elliston of Southhampton, N.Y., recently made the trek from his Long Island home to the Saratoga Automobile Museum with a fascinating piece of area stock car racing history, the No. 888 three-window coupe once wheeled at the nearby Albany-Saratoga and Fonda Speedways by the legendary Rene Charland.

Saratoga Museum Adds Petty Pontiac


Thanks to longtime NASCAR modified racer Roger Griffith of New Hartford, N.Y., a 1985 Curb Racing/STP Pontiac wheeled by NASCAR superstar Richard Petty is now on display in the Saratoga Automobile Museum’s “Racing in New York” gallery.
