IZOD Indy Car Series
The Indianapolis 500 will take center stage during the month of May at historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The 96th running of the event takes the green flag May 27. The late Dan Wheldon won the 2011 500-Mile Race.

Sprint Cup
The one-mile concrete oval at Dover (Del) Int’l Speedway will host the first of two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races June 3. Matt Kenseth won last year’s Spring race at the Monster Mile.
IZOD IndyCar Series
The IZOD IndyCar Series will return to Detroit for the first time since 2010, but the race will move to June 3, which was once the traditional date for the Detroit Grand Prix. The event returns to Belle Isle and comes one weekend after the Indianapolis 500.
