Cicconi Claims Hy-Miler Nationals Victory

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the frontstretch of Sandusky Speedway turned into a big party after Lou Cicconi captured his first Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals win by holding off Moe Lilje in a classic ISMA Supermodified event.

Night one of the 37th annual Hy-Miler Nationals at Sandusky Speedway ended in the early hours of Saturday morning. But a strong group of ISMA Supermodified fans stayed up to watch Ben Seitz win the Fast 40-lap feature.

With the success of Oswego Speedway’s Jim Shampine Memorial broadcast on SPEED SPORT and MAVTV earlier this month, all partners have agreed to expand coverage of the ‘Steel Palace’ to include the Aug. 2 running of the 28th annual $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified event presented by Davis Bros. Inc.

International Classic Guaranteed Starters Set

Oswego Speedway’s 58th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 will take the green flag on Sunday, Aug. 31, and Monday a total of eight guaranteed starters were announced for supermodified racing’s most prestigious event paying in excess of $100,000 in purse and contingency prizes.

Three Straight For Stephens In Midwest Supers

Car owner Steve Stout made it three victories in a row in the Midwest Supermodified Ass’n (MSA), this time at Sandusky Speedway Saturday night. Piloted by three-time series champion, Trent Stephens went to the front with the burnt orange No. 19 and set sail from there.

One night after tackling the flat 3/8-mile of Oxford Plains Speedway, the Int’l Supermodified Ass’n traveled north of the border to the high-banks of Autodrome Chaudière on Saturday night for the Le Habitants Dany Legace 75.
