DIRTcar Announces 2013 Race Dates
WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Officials from DIRTcar Racing, NAPA Auto Parts, VP Racing Fuels, Gander Mountain and Dig Safely convened with members of the media for a luncheon presentation kicking off NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI.
During the luncheon, dates for some 2013 events were announced.
Super DIRT Week XLII will take place Oct. 10, through Oct. 13. Ten Super DIRTcar Series scheduled events for 2013 were also unveiled.
Driver Stewart Friesen is partnering with promoter Brett Deyo to host the Super DIRTcar Series at New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, N. J., for a 60-lapper Tuesday, June 18. Both organizers look forward to pitting series drivers against Jersey and Pennsylvania talent for this first DIRTcar series race at the track in six years.
“It’s a premium facility and the Super DIRTcar Series is top-notch,” Friesen, two-time VP Small Engine Fuels 200 champion, told media during the luncheon.
Seven-time Super DIRTcar Series champion Brett Hearn is already a seasoned promoter himself, entering his fifth year with The Big Show. The Big Show 5 spends a second year at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, N.Y., with a 2013 date of July 9.
“I have a lot of really good people helping me put it on, so I can actually get out there and perform,” said Hearn, whose run in this summer’s The Big Show 4 saw him falling just short of victory, placing second to Bobby Varin.
The Super DIRTcar Series is also scheduled for appearances at Cornwall Motor Speedway and Autodrome Drummond, with more races to be announced as they are scheduled.
