KIRKWOOD, N.Y. — Young Danny Tyler topped an all-star field on Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway in the fifth anniversary Short Track SuperNationals presented by VP Racing Fuels and Pioneer Pole Buildings.

Tyler surpassed legendary Billy Pauch, who led from the outset, to take the lead with three laps remaining and held off the charges of Bobby Varin and Brian Weaver to earn more than $6,000 in cash and contingencies for the 50-lap big-block/small-block modified event.

Weaver drove from 22nd to earn the third-place result.

Pauch ultimately faded to fourth at the finish and Mitch Gibbs completed the front five.

Sixty-six modifieds entered the event.

Shane Wolf won the 25-lap Race of Champions Street Stock event and Duane Kinne topped the 18-lap Four Cylinder event.
