Another Race Falls To Mother Nature

PONTOON BEACH, Ill. – Tomorrow’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Tri-City Speedway has been cancelled.

With the upcoming predicted Thursday Night & Friday forecasts, an agreement between Tri-City Speedway and series officials were left with no option but to cancel the event.

“One to three inches of rain are forecasted over the next 48 hours, followed by extreme low temperatures,” said Promoter Kevin Gundaker. “Our concerns for our fans and teams traveling to this event and incurring costs over the next couple of days while being subjected to the inclement weather led to what we collectively felt was the prudent decision. We are extremely disappointed that the weather has not cooperated.”

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series will be back in action this Saturday night at Paducah (Ky.) Int’l Raceway. The event will be packed with RED BUCK Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 50-Lap feature, paying $10,000 to win.
