Rain Stops Lucas LMs At Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Due to heavy rainfall that began shortly after time trials, officials of Portsmouth Raceway Park and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series made the decision to cancel the Grover Motorsports and Engines Independence 50 Sunday night.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Portsmouth Raceway Park during Labor Day Weekend for the $10,000 to win River Days Rumble 50 Sept. 1.
“It is really unfortunate that the heavy rains came in this evening, especially after the region saw such devastation earlier this weekend,” stated Portsmouth Raceway Park promoter, Donna Rayburn, “we have amazing fans that came out to support us and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and we look forward to seeing all of them return for the River Days Rumble in September.”
