Anderson & Dotson Set For MLRA Opener

“At this stage in my career, I focus more on winning races,” said Anderson. “However, I’ve always been of the opinion that if you’re fast enough to win, you should be in contention for championships.”

On the other hand, last year was certainly a learning experience for Dotson. For years he was a standout modified driver, but last year he made his first venture into the late-model world.

Last spring’s first event at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway was the first time Dotson ever turned a lap in the division. He had his share of ups and downs, but was able to walk away with the Rookie of the Year title and a third place finish in points.

“We didn’t have a clue this time last year,” said Dotson in regards to the challenge of competing in with the Lucas Oil MLRA for the first time. “However, we were able to compete with everybody by the end of the year. We achieved all of the goals we set out for the team. We didn’t do anything stupid and now have much more of an idea of what to do.”

By Dotson’s standards two to four wins this season would make him happy at the end of the year. Who knows, he may just exceed his own goals in 2013.
