Injury Sidelines Arend At Brainerd

BRAINERD, Minn. – Jeff Arend, driver for the Jim Dunn Racing/Grime Boss Nitro Funny Car, will not make it to eliminations today at the 2013 NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd Int’l Raceway.

Arend injured his foot in a non-racing related accident on Friday night. At first what was thought to be a sprain, turned out to be much more serious. A follow-up with a physician determined Arend’s foot was broken in 3 places.

Arend was able to earn the 12 qualifying spot and was set to run Tim Wilkerson in round one.
