Welcome to Super 7 Sweep fantasy racing powered by SPEED SPORT
Posted by The Commish on Thursday, August 22, 2013
For those of you who’ve been playing this game previously, either from when it was presented by Wind Tunnel or from the halcyon MenWithGuts era, decades ago, long before Internet fantasy games became reality, welcome back and thanks for your support and continued patronage.
It’s only fitting that the Super 7 Sweep is now powered by SPEED SPORT, America’s Trusted Motorsports News source since 1934, as next year the Super 7 Sweep will celebrate its 25th year of providing the best fantasy racing game around to fans of all ages, shapes, sizes and motor racing preferences.
It seems we have a lot in common.
And for you rookie players, some of whom have never played any kind of fantasy game before and others who are used to picking drivers from one series only, you are in for a special treat.
From now through end of November, when the 2013 racing season closes with the F1 Grand Prix of Brazil, you will have the chance to show your knowledge and selection skills regarding ALL the top series in the world, including NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Trucks; IndyCar and Formula 1; and both Grand-Am Rolex and ALMS prior to the introduction of the USCR in 2014.
You’ll pick a total of 7 starters before the day of each weekends first race and you have to pick at least one driver or sports car per scheduled race in order to complete your full lineup.
(NOTE: We have nothing against games that follow one series only; it just seems like single-series racing games are like fantasy football games that only let you pick quarterbacks.)
Over the next 13 weekends you’ll have a chance to win a prize for most points per round, most points per month and, at the end of the Fall Championship contest, most points overall. You can create or join a Private League for family members, co-workers and/or Facebook friends, too.
Let’s be clear, though. In order to do well at this game you have to be aware of what’s going on in the racing worlds. So we strongly suggest you take full advantage of the news, articles and updates available at www.nationalspeedsportnews.com, including all the stock car, open wheel and sports car content you’ll need to make informed picks each week.
Of course, www.nationalspeedsportnews.com also features news about dirt racing, drag racing, motorcycle racing and more. So between the website and SPEED SPORT Magazine, you’ll have access to an entire universe of racing content.
Watch this space each Monday for an overview of each round’s race and Super 7 Sweep results, and please remember to submit your starters prior to each weekend’s deadline.
Again, thanks for joining us, keep the wheels down and roof up and good luck!
