Motorcycles are welcome and will be grouped separately if there enough, or will be grouped together in a regular session. “Once people see how big a challenge VIR can be at pace car speeds, they appreciate the skills needed to drive it even more,” said track Managing Partner Connie Nyholm. “We are always looking for ways we can contribute to the communities around us and ‘Holiday Laps’ is one way. The experience of driving the same track that challenged Carroll Shelby and the other great drivers who raced here is one bonus that we can give the donors. Watching people bring their cars for the VIR Holiday Laps here is just as special as watching the great modern and vintage race cars that we get to see at VIR every year. The program lets us give fans a taste of life on the other side of the rail and help the local communities at the same time. We’d like for everyone to be able to experience VIR from the other side of the fence.” For a $25 donation, or the equivalent in non-perishable food items or toys, drivers of any safe road car, truck or van can drive VIR and at least partially experience the thrill of driving on the same track where some of the world’s best race drivers and motorcycle riders compete all year long. DWM has fielded Toyota Tundras in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (CTS) since 2004. David Reutimann drove DWM's truck to a third place finish in the 2006 CTS points and won the 2005 Nashville event. TRG will continue an alliance with DWM through 2007 and 2008. The newly formed partnership will take its No 00 TRG Toyota Tundra to this weekend’s Silverado 350K at Texas Motor Speedway. Andy Lally will take on the driving duties as he acquaints himself with the team and the truck for the first time in preparation for a full CTS in 2008. “We will be running the last three races in our new Tundra and are looking forward to getting our feet wet and really learning the ropes in this type of racing,” Buckler said. “In our 13 year sports car history, we have had the benefit of working with some top level people and brands. Many of the conversations regarding motorsports, marketing, sponsorships and long term business goals, always seem to lead to NASCAR. We decided that it was time to take our racing partnerships to the next level. We have a strong association with Porsche and the Grand-Am Series, and this endeavor will only benefit our multiple Porsche programs and our presence in the Rolex Series. The Rolex Series has been good to us and has served as the entrée to NASCAR.” Buckler and the TRG group have been planning this step for the last two years. After multiple trips to Charlotte to visit with top teams, as well as taking advice from fellow team owners, friends, and partners, the group felt the time was right to enter into the CTS.

Champ Car's Power-to-Pass Adds Horsepower, Time
• When newly crowned champion Sebastien Bourdais and the rest of the Champ Car World Series drivers use the popular Cosworth Power-to-Pass (P2P) feature on their respective cars in the Gran Premio Tecate Presented by Banamex at Mexico City, they are going to get something they always ask for—more horsepower. In the 13 previous 2007 races, when a Champ Car driver utilized the Cosworth Power-to-Pass on the Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone, they would benefit from an additional 50 horsepower. The P2P boost is available for 60 seconds, to be used at a driver’s discretion during a race, providing a strategic element to Champ Car racing. When drivers push the P2P button during the Nov. 11 season finale at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit, however, they will have an additional 50 horsepower to enhance their ability to pass other cars, as well as additional 15 seconds of use (75 seconds total).
