The O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series added a pair of dates to its 2008 schedule with the inclusion of Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway on June 7 and Mt. Vernon (Ill.) Speedway on Sept. 6... Nielsen Media Research reported the Atlanta NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race ratings were up 31 percent from last year... Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., will open it’s American-Canadian Tour and weekly series’ doors to Toyota, now the official vehicle of Thunder Road and ACT... Prior to the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500, Stone Temple Pilots will play in the Miller Lite Carb Day Concert, free to all ticket holders... Torco Racing Fuels Ontario implemented its “Give it Back to the Racers” series for the 2008 season, offering drivers who use Torco Fuel discount cards, a drawing for “buy one, get one free” for 2009 and a drawing for free race fuel for 2009. The BPG Racing Freedom 76 will pay $20,000 to the winner Sept. 13…Large amounts of snow have forced Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park to push back its season opener until March 28…A fire caused minor damage to the historic covered grandstand at Fremont Speedway, but the track will open its season as scheduled April 19... Our mistake: In a Public Forum letter from Vince Beck published Feb. 27, NSSN misidentified a race track and drag strip in Eastern Washington, near Spokane, which is to be auctioned on April 10.
