No. 1 Billy Moyer

No. 21 Moyer Victory Circle Late Model
Another weekend, another victory for “Mr. Smooth.” Moyer’s latest triumph, his ninth in 21 starts this season, came at the $20,000-to-win WoO Late Model Series Illini 100. Moyer now has 17 top-10 finishes and 15 top-five finishes this season. It was also his third-straight World of Outlaws victory.2.


2. Carl Edwards

Nos. 99/60 Fords, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Nationwide Series
Edwards won for the third time in Sprint Cup competition this season, running away from the field at Texas Motor Speedway.

3. Jason Meyers

No. 14 KPC Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
Meyers’s victory at I-55 Speedway was his third  World of Outlaws triumph and second straight in five starts this season.

4. Jeff Burton

Nos. 31/29  Chevrolets, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Nationwide Series
Burton maintained his Sprint Cup point lead with a sixth-place finish Sunday at Texas, which followed a second-place Nationwide Series run.

5. Tony Schumacher

U.S. Army Top Fuel Dragster, NHRA Top Fuel
The NHRA had the week off after a trip to Baytown, Texas, where Schumacher’s run to the quarterfinals helped maintain his point lead.

6. Kyle Busch

Nos. 18/51 Toyotas, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Nationwide/Truck Series
Busch found victory lane in the Nationwide Series at Texas and finished third in Sprint Cup. He leads the Craftsman Truck standings.

7. Kimi Raikkonen

No. 1 Ferrari, Formula One
The defending World Driving Champion returned to the podium with a second-place finish to teammate Felipe Massa at Bahrain.

8. Scott Pruett/Memo Rojas

No. 01 Telmex Ganassi Lexus Riley, Grand Am
Pruett and Rojas have teamed for DP victories in both Grand Am events this season and lead the point standings.

9. Timo Bernhard/Romain Dumas

No. 7 DHL Penske Porsche, American Le Mans Series
The Team Penske duo followed up its overall victory at Sebring with a class victory/second-overall performance at St. Petersburg.

10. Helio Castroneves

No. 3 Team Penske Dallara-Honda, IndyCar Series
Castroneves is without a victory in 2008, but a runner-up finish at St. Petersburg coupled with a fourth at Miami gives him the point lead.


Honorable Mention

Spencer Massey earned the first IHRA Ironman award of his career Sunday at the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals, just six days after receiving his Top Fuel license.


Last Week

Moyer is on top for the second-straight week, while Lewis Hamilton, Donny Schatz and Scott Dixon fall from the rankings. IndyCar Series point leader Helio Castroneves debuts at No. 10, while Carl Edwards moves up to No. 2.
