No. 1 Donny Schatz

No. 15 J&J Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
Schatz finished second and fourth in a pair of West Coast World of Outlaws events, extending his point lead over Joey Saldana.
Only two weekends of racing remain for Schatz and the No. 15 team.


2. Jeff Gordon

No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, Nextel Cup Series
After claiming the pole, Gordon battled near the front most of the day and finished third Sunday at Martinsville, Va.

3. Jimmie Johnson

No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, Nextel Cup Series
Johnson closed the gap on Gordon in the championship standings with his seventh triumph of the season.

4. Dave Connolly

Torco Chevrolet Cobalt, NHRA Pro Stock
After two weeks off, Connolly puts his five-race winning streak on the line Sunday at The Strip @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

5. Kimi Raikkonen

No. 6 Ferrari, Formula One
Needing the race of his life, Raikkonen romped to victory in the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix to claim the world title by one point.

6. Sebastien Bourdais

No. 1 McDonald’s Panoz, Champ Car World Series
In clinching his fourth-straight Champ Car crown, Bourdais captured his seventh victory in 13 races this season.

7. Dario Franchitti

No. 27 Canadian Club Honda, IndyCar Series
The 2007 IndyCar Series champion made his Craftsman Truck Series debut and was involved in a crash, finishing 33rd.

8. Jon Fogarty/Alex Gurney

No. 99 Gainsco Pontiac, Grand Am Rolex Series
Earning seven victories en route to the Grand Am title, the pair has been out of action since the season ended in mid-September.

9. Joey Logano

No. 20 Chevrolet, NASCAR Grand National
Banking more than $33,000 for winning the All Star Showdown, Logano grabbed his seventh victory of the year.

10. Rinaldo Capello/Allan McNish

No. 2 Audi R-10, American Le Mans Series
Capello and McNish put the wraps on their ALMS title with a victory at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday.
