No. 1

Tony Schumacher

U.S. Army Dragster, NHRA Top Fuel
Schumacher’s unparalleled dominance of the Top Fuel division has put the “Sarge” in a class by himself. The Army dragster’s Wally count now stands at 10 on the season, including the last five. He hasn’t lost since NHRA began racing to 1,000 feet in mid-July.

Rest Of The Best

2. Kyle Busch

No. 18 Toyota, NASCAR Sprint Cup
Busch only raced in Sprint Cup over the weekend, but followed his Watkins Glen win with a runner-up finish at Michigan Int’l Speedway.

3. Scott Dixon

No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Dallara-Honda, IndyCar Series
Dixon has six IndyCar Series victories this season and has won three of four as the series heads to Infineon Raceway this weekend.

4. Donny Schatz

No. 15 J&J Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
Schatz followed his third-straight Knoxville Nationals title with a disappointing trip to his home state where he earned two fourths and a 10th.

5. Johnny Benson

No. 23 Toyota, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
With three-straight victories to his credit, Benson heads to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway where he won last season.

6. Carl Edwards

Nos. 99/60 Fords, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Nationwide Series
Edwards swept the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide series events at Michigan Int’l Speedway.

7. Lewis Hamilton

No. 22 Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes, Formula One
Hamilton appears poised to capture the World Driving Championship that eluded him last season.

8. Scott Pruett/Memo Rojas

No. 01 Telmex Ganassi Lexus Riley, Grand Am
The duo will try and recover from a dreadful 13th-place finish two weeks ago as the series heads to Sonoma for the Armed Forces 250.

9. Jason Meyers

No. 14 KPC Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
Meyers recorded his seventh World of Outlaws victory of the season Sunday and didn’t finish outside the top five in three races last week.

10. No. 20 Nationwide Series Team

No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, NASCAR Nationwide Series
Stewart drove the No. 20 to a third-place finish, but the real story followed as the team attempted to bypass a NASCAR-ordered dyno test.

Honorable Mention

ARCA veteran Frank Kimmel returned from injury to get his first victory of the season on the dirt of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. . . Brady Bacon won three-consecutive Sprint Bandit races.

Last Week

Schatz was in second powered by his Knoxville performance, but falls to fourth behind Busch and Dixon. Edwards jumps two spots, while Meyers re-enters the rankings.
