No. 1 Donny Schatz

No. 15 J&J Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
The Mississippi rain is the only thing that has slowed down Schatz so far this season. The WoO Sprint Car slate was rained out this past weekend at Magnolia Speedway, but Schatz remained at No. 1 with a pair of Volusia victories and five straight top-five finishes in early-season competition.


2. Tony Schumacher

U.S. Army Dragster, NHRA Top Fuel
Schumacher will try to follow up a Winternationals victory with another Wally this weekend in Arizona.

3. Billy Moyer

No. 21 Moyer Victory Circle, Dirt Late Model
Moyer closed out the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals with his third victory in five nights, throwing in a third-place finish in the WoO opener as well.

4. Ryan Newman

No. 12 Alltel Dodge, Sprint Cup
Newman, who won for the first time since 2005, delivered team owner Roger Penske his long-awaited Daytona 500 triumph Sunday.

5. Alex Gurney/Jon Fogarty

No. 99 Gainsco Pontiac, Grand Am
The  Grand Am season will resume March 27 at Homestead, Fla., where the championship tandem will return to action.

6. Tony Stewart

No. 20 Toyotas, Sprint/Nationwide Series
Stewart followed up a Nationwide Series victory on Saturday with another Daytona 500 near-miss, finishing third.

7. Kimi Raikkonen

No. 1 Ferrari, Formula One
The defending World Driving Champion has been quick in offseason testing, but the season-opening Australian Grand Prix awaits .

8. Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Nos. 88/5 Chevrolets, Sprint/Nationwide Series
Earnhardt followed a Shootout victory with a Gatorade 150 triumph, a third in the Nationwide Series and a top 10 in the Daytona 500.

9. Kyle Busch

Nos. 18/51 Toyotas Sprint/Nationwide/Craftsman Truck Series
So close, but no victories for Busch, who recorded a pair of seconds in the Nationwide and truck series to go with a fourth in the Daytona 500.

10. Jerry Coons, Jr.

No. 27 Rotondo Weirich Beast Chevrolet, USAC Silver Crown
Coons captured his second Silver Crown victory, taking the Copper On Dirt feature and finishing third in midgets at Manzanita Speedway.

Honorable Mention:
After 34 tries, Todd Bodine finally found victory lane at Daytona Int’l Speedway, winning the Chevy Silverado 250 in a Toyota Tundra...  Shane Cottle and Darren Hagen captured USAC victories.

Last Week:
Hendrick’s engine woes dumped Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon out of the Power Rankings, while Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman entered the rankings at No. 4, followed by Tony Stewart at No. 6.
