1. Tony Schumacher
U.S. Army Dragster, NHRA Top Fuel
Schumacher will wrap up his sixth NHRA Top Fuel championship simply by making the field this weekend, as the Countdown stops at The Strip @Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the penultimate event of the season — the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.

2. Jimmie Johnson
No. 48 Chevrolet, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Johnson seems immune to stumbles as The Chase winds down and a third-straight Sprint Cup title appears destined.

3. Donny Schatz
No. 15 J&J Sprint Car, World of Outlaws
Schatz blitzed Heartland Park Topeka (Kan.) for his 17th World of Outlaws sprint-car victory of the season.

4. Scott Dixon
No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Dallara-Honda, IndyCar Series
Dixon turned in a runner-up finish in a non-points race this past weekend at Surfers Paradise, which could be a tuneup for next year.

5. Carl Edwards
Nos. 99/60 Fords, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Nationwide Series
From Memphis to Atlanta, Carl Edwards found victory lane both places, sweeping Nationwide and Sprint Cup series action.

6. Kyle Busch
No. 18/51 Toyotas, NASCAR Sprint Cup/Truck Series
Busch, a 20-time winner among NASCAR’s top-tier series this season, managed a fifth (Sprint Cup) and an eighth (Trucks) at Atlanta.

7. Justin Allgaier
No. 16 Dodge, ARCA RE/MAX Series
Allgaier, a six-time winner in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, takes a shot at the Nationwide Series with Team Penske at Texas.

8. Benny Gordon
No. 66 Ford, USAR Hooters Pro Cup
Gordon carries a 27-point lead into the series finale this weekend at Rockingham (N.C.) with hopes of a second Pro Cup title.

9. Lewis Hamilton
No. 22 Vodaphone McLaren Mecedes, Formula One
Hamilton heads to Brazil this weekend determined not to let the World Driving Championship slip away there as it did last year.

10. Brad Sweet
Nos. 9/79 Mopar Midget/Sprint Car, USAC
This past weekend’s Trophy Cup victory capped an October that also saw two USAC midget victories and a third in the Hut Hundred.

Honorable Mention
Bobby Santos III captured his fifth NEMA victory on the year in the season finale for the series. . . Randy Monroe, Jr.’s Candy Bowl victory delivered him the ARDC championship.

Last Week
Tony Schumacher remains at the top of the Power Rankings, while Jimmie Johnson, Donny Schatz, Carl Edwards and Lewis Hamilton all move up. Brad Sweet enters the rankings at No. 10.
