Through The Lens: Jerry Nadeau
Jerry Nadeau was on the way to a long career in NASCAR stock-car racing when he crashed at Richmond Int’l Raceway in May 2003 while driving the U.S. Army Chevrolet.
Now 37, Nadeau hasn’t raced since suffering severe head injuries in that accident. Nadeau continues to make appearances in the racing industry and occasionally works as a consultant for racing teams and drivers.
A Connecticut native, Nadeau began racing go- karts at age 5 and eventually made his way into modifieds on the short track level and into open-wheel road-racing cars.
Nadeau made his NASCAR Nextel Cup Series debut in 1998 and went on to make 177 starts in the series. His lone victory came at Atlanta Motor Speedway during the 2000 season. He posted 19 top-10 finishes during his career.
