Through The Lens: Mike Mosley
Mike Mosley was a mainstay in American Indy- car racing during the 1970s.
The Oklahoma City-born driver made his Indianapolis Motor Speedway debut at age 20, failing to qualify. But he returned the following year and made the first of 15 starts in the Memorial Day classic.
Mosley’s best finish at Indianapolis was third in 1979. He also had a pair of front-row starts at Indianapolis.
Overall, Mosley made 170 Indy car starts and won five times, including three victories at The Milwaukee Mile. He posted 80 top-10 finishes during his Indy-car career.
Mosley was killed in an off-road vehicle accident near Riverside, Calif., in December 1984. He was 38 years old.
