Through The Lens: Phil Parsons
Known today as the popular analyst on Speed’s coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Phil Parsons enjoyed a racing career that spanned more than 20 years.
The younger brother of late NASCAR champion Benny Parsons, Phil followed his brother into the broadcasting world as well, and has worked on coverage of stock-car racing for nearly 10 years.
Parsons, 50, raced in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, making 202 starts during a 15-year span, winning one event — the 1988 Winston 500 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
In addition, Parsons made 285 starts in the NASCAR Busch Series and earned a pair of victories.
