Schumacher Undergoes Second Surgery
GRENOBLE, France – Former Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher has undergone a second surgery at the University Hospital Center of Grenoble to help relieve pressure on his brain according to his doctors.
An initial scan on Monday night indicated a window of opportunity for a second surgery to help relieve pressure on Schumacher’s brain. Following the surgery his doctors did a brain scan, which showed slight improvement.
However, the 44-year-old German remains in critical condition and is far from out of the woods. He remains in a medically induced coma. At this point doctors have said it is impossible to say if he will continue to improve in the coming days.
Schumacher was hurt on Sunday when he fell and his head struck a rock while he was out skiing in the French Alps.
