Vettel Sets Singapore Benchmark

MARINA BAY, Singapore – Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel topped the charts in both Formula One practice sessions Friday in advance of the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The reigning world champion led the first practice session with a best time of 1:50.566, followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in second with his best time of 1:50.615.

In the second session, Vettel improved to 1:48.340. Hamilton’s teammate Jenson Button was second, clocking in at 1:48.651.

Current championship leader Fernando Alonso was fourth fastest in the first practice session and third fastest in the second.

Qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in Marina Bay.
