Guerrieri Takes Iowa Midnight Special

NEWTON, Iowa — Esteban Guerrieri picked up his third Firestone Indy Lights victory of the season early Sunday morning at Iowa Speedway.

As the race was rained out Saturday evening, it was rescheduled for after the IZOD IndyCar Series event.

Guerrieri took control midway through the 100-lap event on the seven-eighths-mile oval and steered Sam Schmidt’s machine to victory over title leader Gustavo Yacaman, who finished second.

Victor Carbone was third with Tristan Vautier, who dominated the early stages of the race but had to serve a drive-through penalty for blocking, taking fourth.

Fifth was David Ostella.
