Anderson Departs RLL IndyCar Team

INDIANAPOLIS — Longtime IndyCar Series mechanic Tom Anderson is on the move.

Anderson, who joined Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at the end of 2011 and directed the team’s return to full-time IZOD IndyCar Series competition, has left the organization after one full season.

“When I set out to restart our IndyCar Series program I thought no one would be better at it than Tom and he certainly proved that was the case,” said team co-owner Bobby Rahal. “I am very appreciative of all the work he did on our behalf in 2011 and 2012 and I think that, without a doubt, a large part of the competitive performance of the team this season was due to Tom’s contribution.

“We wish Tom the best in his next endeavor. His role in our return to fulltime IndyCar Series participation will always be appreciated.”

Anderson’s next endeavor hasn’t yet been announced.
