40th RPM Promoters Workshop On Tap
MERRILL, Wis. – When promoters convene in Reno Nov. 29, history will be made as short track promoters mark the 40th year of national gatherings for promoters.
The event will be the 105th produced by Racing Promotion Monthly, the idea newsletter for auto racing promoters. More than 35,000 promoters, vendors, and industry leaders have attended the Workshops begun in 1972.
The Western Workshop, convened since 1984 at the Eldorado Hotel Casino in Reno, Nev., offers twenty-six sessions covering topics ranging from risk management to social media, from food, and beverage service to tech tools, and more with a special emphasis on assisting promotional newcomers.
Speedway executive Chris Blair will present keynote remarks. He’ll share the spotlight with Todd Stucky, Eldora (Ohio) Speedway concession manager. Jody and Tom Deery who will offer a 40-year Workshops retrospective, and attorneys Cary Agajanian and Ron Bennett will anchor liability and racing business law discussions. Other sessions will include: “Class Count Crisis,” asking how many classes are too many for a nightly card; “The Challenge of Part-Time,” finding and training one-night-per-week employees; and a newly added session, “What The Other Guys Are Doing,” a look at gate, sponsor promotions from minor league baseball, hockey, and basketball.
