Drag Boats Coming To Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, Ohio — Lucas Oil Speedway officials have released the tentative 2011 speedway schedule, which includes a number of changes and the addition of the inaugural Diamond Drag Boat Nationals.
The event, to be held on the new liquid quarter-mile drag boat track located just south of the existing dirt track, is scheduled for July 29-31 and will be filmed by CBS Television for the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series program.
Returning to the Lucas Oil Speedway after a short hiatus will be one appearance each in 2011 by the POWRi National Midget Series (April 30) and the United States Modified Touring Series (Aug. 13).
One of dirt-late-model racing’s crown jewel events, the 19th annual DART Show-Me 100 will once again take place on Memorial Day weekend along with the fifth annual Diamond Nationals July 16th.
In addition, the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodel Racing Ass’n opens the season April 9 and will run an event in conjunction with the drag boat weekend July 30 on the dirt track. The season wraps up with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Truck and Tractor Pull in September along with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Sept. 24.
A full slate of Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Series Championship competition is on tap beginning April 16 and wraps up on Labor Day weekend with the crowning of the class champions in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Pitt’s Homes A-Modifieds, and Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stock.
