BRASELTON, Ga. — Robertson Racing will embark on the full American Le Mans Series schedule with a pair of Michelin-shod Ford GTs.

This year will be the first time Robertson Racing has fielded two Ford GTs during the entire ALMS season. The second Ford GT debuted last year during the season ending Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga.

Regular drivers David Robertson and Andrea Robertson will once again co-drive the No. 40 machine. David Murry and Anthony Lazzaro will join the team to drive the No. 04 Ford GT this year. Additional drivers will be announced later for the endurance events on the 2011 calendar.

The team has also confirmed that it has submitted two entries for the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans, which are subject to approval. It would be the first time the team has competed in the historic 24-hour event.

“The team has moved forward and progressed a great deal over the last 12 months thanks to our successful expansion to a two-car operation and pending application to race at Le Mans,” said Team Manager Andrew Smith. “In a category dominated by manufacturers, I think we can be proud of what we’ve achieved so far. I’m sure this is just the beginning.”

The American Le Mans Series season begins March 19 with the 59th running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring (Fla.) Int’l Raceway.
