Hebert Nets $4,500 In South Texas Shootout
by NSSN Staff
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Shane Hebert used the right setup and a little bit of luck to wire the limited modified field Saturday at South Texas Speedway to win the South Texas Shootout and pocket $4,500 for his efforts.
Hebert started on the pole and held off early charges from his brother Danny Hebert and Randy Timms despite several early caution flags. Once the race stayed green S. Hebert outran Sean Jones through traffic in the latter stages of the 45-lap event, taking the checkered flag by a half straightaway over Jones.
Lawrence Mikulencak was third at the quarter-mile dirt oval, followed by Timms and Steve Whiteaker, Jr.
