Rain Slows Ice Bowl Preliminaries

EASTABOGA, Ala. — Rain cut short Saturday’s preliminary action for Sunday’s Ice Bowl XXII at the Talladega Short Track.

With heat races complete for the dirt late models, rain arrived and the remainder of the races were pushed over to the opening of Sunday’s program.

Heat winners for the late models were Billy Ogle Jr., Ray Cook, Ross Martin, David Brannon and Jason Wilson.

Ogle was the fast qualifier, turning a lap of 14.587 seconds on the quarter-mile as 53 cars took time.
