Speedrome To Get New Pavement
INDIANAPOLIS — The Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis Speedrome will be repaved this year. It is only one of the many revitalization plans on the drawing board at the historic fifth-mile asphalt track.
“The first big step in rebuilding the legacy will be this repaving,” said Speedrome Managing Partner Larry Curry. “This is a huge moment in the tracks long history.”
F.E. Harding Asphalt Companies, which has been in the paving business since 1960, was selected as the contractor to do the job. “We are proud to be the company selected to repave the legendary Indianapolis Speedrome,” said owner Mike Harding. “We are looking forward to seeing the exciting racing this new surface will promote in the tracks return to prominence.”
It has been since the early 1990s since the track received this kind of facelift.
The paving schedule is still being finalized.
