USAC Adds National Midget Races At Canyon
INDIANAPOLIS – The USAC Mopar National Midget Series will compete in Arizona Nov. 9-10 thanks to the addition of a pair of races at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.
The three-eighths-mile dirt oval hosted the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series last October and both races were won by USAC National Driving Champion Bryan Clauson.
The USAC AMSOIL National and USAC/CRA Sprint Car series return to Canyon for races Oct. 26-27.
“We are happy to bring the Midgets to Canyon Speedway Park,” said USAC’s Jason McCord. We had some great sprint races there last year and are looking forward again to the October races as well as the newly-announced November Midgets.”
The National Midget races on Nov. 9-10 will be the first in Arizona since Brad Sweet’s victory at Tucson in 2010 and the first ever at Canyon Speedway Park. The races are expected to have an impact on the series standings, which will become final after the Turkey Night Grand Prix on Nov. 22 in Perris, Calif.
