Wild West Tour On Tap For IMCA Mods
MYTON, Utah — The fifth edition of the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour will take IMCA modified drivers to six tracks in as many states this season.
The schedule features a dozen events, with the series opening with a return to Aztec (N.M.) Speedway April 22-23, followed by a visit to Desert Thunder Raceway in Prince, Utah, May 20-21.
Midweek action will combine the Wild West Tour with the new Evenson Law Office Ironman Chal¬lenge Series Battle Mountain (Nev.) Raceway June 15-16. The tour travels to Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 15-16.
The series will finish the season with visits to Fairgrounds Speed¬way in Cortez, Colo., Aug. 12-13 and Atomic Motor Raceway in Atomic City, Idaho, Sept. 16-17.
EQ Cylinder Heads provides a $3,000 point fund, which will be paid to drivers who finish the the top-10 in points. National, ButlerBuilt Western Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded at all events.
Feature winners with car counts of 40 or more entries earn $1,000 and become candidates for 2011 or 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballots. Series events with fewer than 40 entries pay $750 to win.
The champion of the series will earn as many as 20 bonus points, applied toward 2011 national and re¬gional standings, and will be eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions at the 2012 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
