Josh Burton Dies From Crash Injuries
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Josh Burton, who was injured in a sprint-car crash at Bloomington Speedway Friday night, died from his injuries Saturday morning at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital. He was 22 years old.
Burton was a rising star in the sprint-car ranks in the Midwest. Last year he scored his first victory at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind., and was also named rookie-of-the-year at both Lincoln Park and Bloomington Speedways.
Burton was perhaps best known for painting the Hoosier logos of the Hoosier Racing Tires on his No. 04 sprint car a distinct shade of orange whenever he raced.
Services for Burton will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel.
