Sprint Car Driver Larry Miller, 76,
OOLITIC, Ind. — Popular former sprint car racer Larry F. Miller died Nov. 8. He was 76 years old.
Best known for his days driving Karl Kinser’s yellow No. 22 sprint car, Miller was a speed and racing supporter throughout his life.
After returning from a stint in the Army, Miller began racing stock cars in 1956 at local tracks in Bloomington and Mitchell, Ind. After several years racing coupes, he transitioned to supermodifieds and sprint cars in 1964. He won multiple track championships until giving up racing in 1977.
Miller, who owned and operated Miller’s Sunoco and Miller’s Auto Sales at 5th and Lincoln in Bedford, Ind., is survived by his wife, Carole; two sons, two daughters, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
