Lorenzo Tops Sepang Speed Charts

Jorge Lorenzo
SEPANG, Malaysia — Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo and the Yamaha Factory Racing team jumped to the top of the speed charts on the second of three days of MotoGP testing Wednesday at Sepang Int’l Circuit.
Lorenzo’s best lap was 2:00.282.
“A pretty good day, the track was much better than yesterday, I was surprised in the beginning it was so different. I could be strong from the start; a second and a half quicker and I think I beat my record time here in Malaysia,” said Lorenzo. “We improved the setting on the bike and I feel stronger than the first Sepang test so I’m quite satisfied. Tomorrow if the weather is good I would like to try a long run of maybe 24 laps to see what happens with the tires.”
Dani Pedrosa, who led Tuesday’s session, was second for Repsol Honda with Cal Crutchlow taking third for Monster Yamaha Tech 3.
Pedrosa’s teammate, Marc Marquez, qas fourth on the speed charts with Lorenzo’s Yamaha teammate, Valentino Rossi, fifth.
