Marquez Sets The Pace At Indy

SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Marc Marquez paced both MotoGP practice sessions Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to Sunday’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Marquez, who is aiming for a sweep of all the American MotoGP rounds this year, set the pace in the opening session with a fast time of 1:40.781.

He backed up his time in the second practice, clocking in at an even faster 1:39.502 to beat his teammate Dani Pedrosa for the fastest lap of the day.

Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Cal Crutchlow and Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo completed the top three in the opening practice. Pedrosa and Stefan Bradl were second and third fastest in practice two.

Ben Spies, making his return to MotoGP from injury, was 11th and 13th in the two practice sessions.
