NEWTON, Iowa – Ross Chastain earned his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole Saturday afternoon at Iowa Speedway.

Chastain’s 22.968-second lap at 137.147 mph gave the driver of the No. 19 Ford F-150 the pole for Sunday’s Fan Appreciation 200 presented by New Holland at the .875-mile oval. Erik Jones, who finished second at Iowa in Truck Series competition in July, qualified second for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Defending series champion James Buescher qualified third, followed by Richard Childress Racing teammates Brendan Gaughan and Ty Dillon.

Timothy Peters, who won at Iowa in July, qualified sixth. Chase Elliott, Jeb Burton, Ryan Blaney and Darrell Wallace Jr. completed the top 10. Series championship leader Matt Crafton qualified 12th.

With only 36 Trucks at the track, there were no drivers who failed to qualify.
