Crafton Wins Another One For ThorSport
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — ThorSport Racing has everything going its way in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Matt Crafton won Saturday’s SFP 250 Saturday afternoon at Kansas Speedway, giving the team its third victory in four races this season. Johnny Sauter won the first two events of the season for the Toyota team before Kyle Larson won race three at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.
It was Crafton’s third career victory, but first in his last 39 starts. Crafton led 34 of the 167 laps, beating Joey Coulter, in a Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota, by .168 seconds on the 1.5-mile superspeedway.
“Yesterday we were 18th average on the second practice and we were a 20th place truck at best to be honest,” Crafton said. “They changed so much on this truck — you always hear people say it, but they changed four springs, sway bar, sway bar arms — I mean tons of stuff. There’s a bunch more stuff that they changed that would probably lose everybody, but they made a whole sale change and what that comes down to is teamwork and believing in each other and then going out there and doing it. The show was so awesome — it was a great race.
Ryan Blaney finished third in a Brad Keselowski Racing Ford with Brendan Gaughan and Sauter rounding out the top five.
Sauter leads Crafton by 12 points in the standings after four races.
