BOWMANVILLE, Ontario – Alex Tagliani made his Canadian supporters proud on Saturday.

Tagliani sped to the pole in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with Brad Keselowski Racing by posting a 109.889-mph lap in the final round of qualifying for Sunday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canada’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The 40-year-old Canadian outpaced Gray Gaulding’s NTS Motorsports Chevrolet to take the top spot on the grid. Gaulding starts second, followed by Erik Jones, German Quiroga and Cole Custer.

Andrew Ranger was the second-fastest Canadian in sixth. Darrell Wallace Jr. qualified seventh, with Matt Crafton in 8th. Timothy Peters and rookie Cameron Hayley, making his CWTS debut for Turner Scott Motorsports, rounded out the top 10.

The race will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
