Busch Leads JGR Parade At Darlington

Busch restarted fourth and moved to second immediately after the restart with 23 laps to go. Busch stayed in Logano’s tire tracks for several laps, but a mistake by Logano coming out of turn two opened the door for Busch to retake the lead with 18 laps left.

“He (Logano) had plenty of control the first time he got sideways, the second time he got sideways it was a little bigger,” Busch said. “These tires are really going away here. They fall off. It is sort of like the old Darlington, I think we’re kind of back to that. You’ve just got to persevere. We had four fresh tires and he was out there on old tires, so I knew he was going to come back to me eventually.”

Once out front, Busch pulled away from the pack, eventually beating Sadler to the finish by .936 of a second.

The victory was Busch’s fifth in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition this season and his series leading 56th all-time. It was the sixth victory in the last seven races at Darlington in the Nationwide Series for JGR and the second for Busch at Darlington.
