Allmendinger In Finch No. 51 At Martinsville

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A.J. Allmendinger will remain in the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

Allmendinger is listed as the driver of Phoenix Racing’s entry on the official NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry list released by the sanctioning body Tuesday.

The California native returned to NASCAR with Phoenix Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., on Oct. 13 after being suspended by NASCAR for failing a random drug test.

Allmendinger was later released by Penske Racing following the failed drug test. He was eventually reinstated by NASCAR after completing a substance abuse program.

In his two starts with James Finch’s Phoenix Racing, he finished 35th at Kansas Speedway after a crash and 24th at Charlotte.

Allmendinger finished second at Martinsville earlier this season while driving Penske Racing’s No. 22 Dodge.
