FT. WORTH, Texas — Kyle Busch completed a weekend sweep at Texas Motor Speedway.

Busch won Saturday night’s NRA 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the 1.5-mile oval after having won the previous night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Busch drove his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to a 508-second victory over Martin Truex Jr. in a Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota.

It was Busch’s second victory of the season and 26th career Sprint Cup Series victory. It came in his 300th career start after Busch won the pole during qualifying Friday night. It was the 103rd Sprint Cup victory for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Busch led 170 of the 334 laps of the 1.5-mile oval. Truex finished second for the sixth time since his only Sprint Cup victory at Dover (Del.) Int’l Speedway

“It was a great race car,” Busch said. “We ran up front all day long. My pit crew is the best pit crew ever. We’ve been together since 2008 with no changeover and they gave us great pit stops all night long.”

Truex led 142 laps, but couldn’t stop Busch at the end.

“Should of, could of, would of,” Truex said. “The race was over when we got beat out of the pits.”

Roush Fenway Racing Ford teammates Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle were third and fourth, while Joe Logano was fifth in a Penske Racing Ford.

Point leader Jimmy Johnson was sixth in a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.
