CommScope Joins Daytona Rising Project

Daytona RisingDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – CommScope became the first technology partner on Wednesday in the expanding “We Built Daytona” marketing platform supporting the $400 million Daytona Rising redevelopment project at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

CommScope will deploy a new communications infrastructure at DIS providing the facility with the bandwidth and flexibility to offer services that will enhance a fan’s experience, as well as improve operations.

The “We Built Daytona” platform is designed specifically for partners involved in the construction of Daytona Rising and enables them to showcase their involvement through a marketing presence. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We’re thrilled to welcome CommScope to our ‘We Built Daytona’ roster of partners, and we are especially honored to recognize them as the first technology partner for the platform,” said DIS President Joie Chitwood III. “This new infrastructure from CommScope will give us the ability to deliver leading technology services and functions to fans and staff as DIS becomes the world’s first motorsports stadium.”

CommScope will deploy approximately 220 miles of SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED XL Category 6 cable, 50 miles of TeraSPEED single mode fiber optic cable and all terminations supporting digital signage and way-finding, more than 1500 HD displays, synchronized stadium-wide messaging, Wi-Fi connectivity in social areas, and an enhanced audio experience.

For operations staff, the new infrastructure will enable DIS to provide critical security measures such as high resolution security cameras, HVAC control, lighting control, and other fire and life safety services.

CommScope joins five other companies aboard the “We Built Daytona” platform, including Kingspan, a market leader in sustainable building product technology; USG Corporation, a leading building products company; Sherwin-Williams, an industry leader in the development of technologically advanced paint and coatings; Big Ass Fans, a ceiling fan design and engineering company; and ROSSETTI, an award-winning architectural design and planning firm that is leading the master planning of the Daytona Rising project.
