Kvapil Fastest During Talladega Practices

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Travis Kvapil put down the fastest lap during a pair of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice sessions Friday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

Kvapil, wheeling the No. 93 BK Racing Toyota, timed in at 47.772 seconds (200.452 mph) during the first practice session. That time turned out to be the fastest of the day.

Casey Mears was second fastest in the first practice, followed by Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and David Ragan.

In the second practice many teams spent time working on qualifying runs, with the time sheet reflecting that. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was the fastest during the second practice at 48.462 (197.598 mph). Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth and Marcos Ambrose completed the top five in the second session.
