K&K Motorsports To Race On Both Coasts

PORTLAND, Ore. — The new K&K Motorsports has announced a diverse plan for the 2013 season with drivers competing in modifieds on the West Coast and in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East on the East Coast.

K&K Motorsports, a motorsports marketing agency and race team fielded by Kim Walmer, will kick off in earnest for 2013 after fielding a Modified for Keegan Walmer in 2012.

Team drivers next season will include Ohio’s Ricky Bowers, Arizona’s Dylan Cappello, Oregon’s Kelsie Martin in modified competition with Keegan Walmer moving up into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for Deware Racing Group.

The partnership with Deware Racing Group will allow K&K Motorsports development drivers a direct link between NASCAR Modifieds through NASCAR K&N Pro Series, East, and potentially into the DRG NASCAR Nationwide program.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to work with Keegan Walmer in 2013,” said Scott Deware, owner of the Deware Racing Group. “Keegan is a bright young man with an incredible racing future. We’re looking forward to developing Keegan into a competitive and winning driver next year, and beyond.”

Martin, Bowers, and Cappello will team up to compete at All American Speedway and Stockton 99 Speedway in a 15-race schedule. The drivers will be searching for points for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series California state title and will be eligible for national honors as well.

The 16-year-old Cappello will drive in his rookie NASCAR Modified season after finishing sixth in the Legends points at the Las Vegas Bullring in 2012. Cappello also has extensive experience as a national champion in Quarter Midgets too.

Bowers, 18, comes to K&K Motorsports after two seasons with Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle in the USAC Ignite Midgets. His 2012 campaign included 10 podium finishes and one win en route to a runner-up finish in the USAC NorCal Ignite Midget points.

Martin, 22, started racing at nine years old and accumulated four quarter midget national championships and 15 track records. She moved on to micro 600s for a few seasons and 2013 will mark her return to racing after taking a break for several years.
