LOUDON, N.H. — Todd Szegedy made a last-lap pass of Donny Lia to win Saturday’s F.W. Webb 100 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Lia and Szegedy ran one-two during the closing laps with Szegedy giving Lia a shove from behind as the two raced into the third turn on the final lap of the one-mile asphalt oval.

Lia slid up the track and Szegedy charged to victory with polesitter Ryan Newman slipping past to finish second.

“I knew I had to wait until the last lap. I knew he was going to throw a block on me,” said Szegedy. “I gave him a pretty good shot going into three and I don’t like winning races like that, but I had to win this race. He ran me clean the whole race and I roughed him up a little bit, but I needed this win.”

Lia held on to third with Bobby Santos and Patrick Emerling rounding out the top five.

Point leader Ryan Preece finished 11th and leads 12th-place finisher Doug Coby by 41 points in the standings.
