Cold Stone Supporing Nelson Piquet Jr.
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Turner Scott Motorsports has announced that global brand Cold Stone Creamery will sponsor the No. 30 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Nelson Piquet Jr. in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series 5-hour ENERGY 200 at Dover Int’l Speedway.
Cold Stone Creamery delivers the Ultimate Ice Cream Experience through a community of franchisees who are passionate about ice cream. The secret recipe for smooth and creamy ice cream is handcrafted fresh daily in each store, and then customized by combining a variety of mix-ins on a frozen granite stone. Cold Stone Creamery currently operates more than 1,500 locations in 25 countries.
“Piquet Jr.’s competitiveness, leadership and confidence, both in his keen racing acumen and in his team, is without a doubt something to admire”, said Dan Beem, President of Cold Stone Creamery. “Jumping into the racing world with Turner Scott Motorsports is an incredible opportunity for our brand to be a part of and is going to be a great ride. Nelson has thrilled race fans the continents over with his mature, controlled, yet aggressive brand of racing. We look forward to being a part of this winning car and team.”
Piquet Jr., who is competing in his first full season in the NNS for Turner Scott Motorsports, became the first Brazilian to win in one of NASCAR’s top-three national touring series events when he took the checkered flag last year at Road America. Piquet Jr. went on to win two more races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2012, while also earning the series’ Most Popular Driver and Most Improved Driver awards. Piquet Jr. is a former Formula One driver and is the son of three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet.
“I am thrilled to have Cold Stone on the car this weekend at Dover,” said Piquet Jr. “It’s a great company, and I really enjoy getting their ice cream and shakes when I am craving something sweet. It’s great to have a new company like Cold Stone in the sport of NASCAR, and I am looking forward to getting them a great finish this weekend at Dover.”
