CONCORD, N.C. – Kyle Larson cruised to victory in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Driving the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro with new sponsor ENEOS, Larson took the lead for the first time on lap 118 from Brad Keselowski. Larson made a thrilling move on the high side around two lap cars to get alongside Keselowski, clearing the former Sprint Cup champion as they reached the start/finish line.

“I tried it (the high side) a few times throughout the race and I knew it was fast,” Larson said. “I knew if I could catch Brad in a bad spot in traffic I could use it to my advantage and that is kind of what happened.

“He kind of got hung up behind them (the lap cars) and there was a clear lane up above. Maybe it didn’t look that clear on TV but there was plenty of room up there for me,” Larson said. “That was kind of the move of the race for us.”

Larson eventually built more than a three second lead before green flag pit stops began with around 65 laps left. Larson was able to maintain the top spot after pit stops cycled through, but Keselowski was able to cut Larson’s lead down from three seconds to less than a second after the pit stops.

Keselowski continued to chase Larson until the caution flag waved with 30 laps left for debris. With only nine cars left on the lead lap, Larson led the field down pit road for the final round of pit stops. Larson was able to maintain the lead off pit road, followed by Kevin Harvick, Keselowski, Kyle Busch and Brian Scott.

The field returned to racing with 26 laps left and Larson quickly re-assumed the lead. Keselowski quickly dispatched Harvick for second and began to try and chase down Larson.
