RICHMOND, Va. – NASCAR Nationwide Series championship leader Elliott Sadler confirmed he won’t be back with Richard Childress Racing next year during a press conference Friday at Richmond Int’l Raceway.

“Right now I don’t have anything with any team,” Sadler said. “That day will come. We are working on some things and we are talking to some different teams and hopefully something will come together.”

Sadler joined RCR at the beginning of the season when Richard Childress merged his operation with the Nationwide operation owned by Kevin Harvick, for which Sadler drove in 2010. This year Sadler has already won four races this year and is leading Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in the Nationwide championship standings by 12 points.

“Even though it looks like I won’t be a part of RCR next year, I think to be in this situation that we’re in and the points battle that we’re in and the success that we’re having, I think it’ll be pretty easy to stay focused,” Sadler said.

“We’ve still got nine races left to go this season to make this happen,” Sadler said about winning the Nationwide championship.
